As the largest nonprofit university in the U.S., Liberty University has more than 165 buildings spread out over 6,500 acres. Student enrollment (both residential and online) exceeds 65,000 and students hail from all 50 states and more than 70 countries worldwide. Liberty's motto is "knowledge aflame" and it was founded on Christian principles by Dr. Jerry Falwell Sr. in 1971. Liberty offers more than 200 academic programs and students learn in a faith-based environment. Nursing Programs at Liberty University
Liberty's nursing programs prepare students to practice the profession within a framework of Christian ethics. Programs include a prelicensure Bachelor of Science in nursing and the unique specialty of parish nursing, which is a program for practicing registered nurses who want to promote health within a ministry or faith-based community. It is based on principles of holistic healing through the body, mind and spirit. Liberty also offers an online RN to BSN and an online Master of Science in nursing program in nursing education.
