Newman University, founded in 1933, has a main campus in Wichita, Kansas, as well as additional sites in eastern and western Kansas, Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Tulsa and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Grounded in Catholic values and traditions, Newman University serves 2,100 students and offers more than 40 undergraduate and graduate degree programs. Students are involved in more than 30 clubs and organizations, a variety of leadership opportunities, and service learning activities. Every year, Newman University students spend more than 15,000 hours volunteering.
Nursing Education at Newman University
The Nursing Department at Newman University offers BSN and RN to BSN programs. Students in the BSN program complete 60 hours of liberal arts and sciences prior to enrolling in nursing courses. With a community-based curriculum, the nursing program at Newman University is designed to prepare students to become nurse generalists. Students gain clinical experience in a variety of settings that include homes, clinics, workplaces, physicians offices, health departments, hospitals, and nursing homes. The RN to BSN program is designed for licenced RN’s who have graduated from an associate degree program.
