Norfolk State University, founded in 1935, is located in Norfolk, Virginia. With an enrollment of 6,000 students, the University offers undergraduate degrees through its schools of Education, Social Work, and Business, and colleges of Liberal Arts, Science, Engineering, and Technology. The 134-acre campus is home to more than 80 student organizations. Facilities include a performing arts center, a television studio, radio station, a cancer research lab, and a 30,000 seat football stadium.
Nursing Education at Norfolk State University
The Department of Nursing at Norfolk State University has offered nursing programs for more than 50 years. Norfolk State University offers Associate and Bachelor of Science degrees in nursing. The Associate degree program is available to students without prior nursing experience and to licenced practical nurses. The BSN program is available in three tracks: a second-degree program for those with a bachelor’s degree in another field, an LPN to BSN, and an RN to BSN for students with associate degrees or a diploma in nursing.
