Southwestern Oklahoma State University, located in Weatherford, Oklahoma, was established in 1901 as the Southwestern Normal School. Today the University serves more than 5,000 students and is made up of the Colleges of Arts and Sciences, Pharmacy, and Professional and Graduate Studies. The College of Associate and Applied Programs is located in Sayre, Oklahoma. Southwestern Oklahoma State University also operates the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribal College. In addition to programs on the Sayre and Weatherford campuses, the University offers distance learning programs.
Nursing Education at Southwestern Oklahoma State University
The School of Nursing at Southwestern Oklahoma State University was established in 1976. It is accredited through the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) and approved through the Oklahoma Board of Nursing. The School offers a BSN and an online RN to BSN. The traditional BSN admits students once each year in the fall and the RN to BSN admits Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters.
