Nursing Education at University at Buffalo - SUNY

The School of Nursing at SUNY Buffalo began in the 1930’s as a division of the School of Medicine and became an independent unit in 1940. On the undergraduate level, the School offers a basic BSN, and an ABSN program. DNP programs are available in Adult Clinical Nurse Specialist and Nurse Practitioner. MSN in Nurse Anesthesia and a PhD program are also available. Nursing students at SUNY Buffalo gain clinical experience through the University’s affiliations with Western New York’s major health care facilities.
